Beef Stew/Nilagang Baka
Ingredients:
- 1 kilo beef chunks
- 2 large onions, peeled and halved
- 10-12 whole peppercorns
- 1 liter water
- 1 spring onion
- 2 pieces carrots
- 1 pechay
- 1 bundle of string beans or sitaw
- salt
- Put beef and water in a cooking pot. Bring to a boil until scum comes out. Remove the scum.
- Add the onion, peppercorns and salt. Cook until beef is tender. About one and a half hour or even longer.
- If meat is already tender, add the carrots. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the string beans and spring onion. Simmer for 3 minutes.
- Add the pechay. Season with salt. Simmer for another 2 minutes
- Serve and enjoy!
